ALL SEMI-PERMANENT PRE + POST CARE

In order for your new brows to heal properly (and look their best) these Pre & Post Care Instructions found below are EXTREMELY IMPORTANT! Pre-Care instructions are designed to limit bleeding and skin sensitivities during the service. Excess bleeding during the procedure will dilute the pigment color and lead to poor results.

Do not work out 48 hours before procedure.

  • NO alcohol or caffeine 48 hours before procedure (Yes, there is caffeine in decaf coffee and tea!).

  • Avoid sun tanning on your face two weeks prior to procedure.

  • Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E or Advil/Ibuprofen 48 hours before procedure.

  • Avoid Fish Oil, Prenatal Vitamins, Nutritional Shakes (Shakeology, etc), "Hair, Skin, Nail" supplements two weeks prior to procedure.

  • Discontinue Retin-A, Chemical and Laser Peels, Microdermabrasions, Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA), and any chemical exfoliant or "brightening" skincare atleast 6 weeks prior (Once your brows have healed, you must avoid use of these products on forehead area procedure to prevent premature fading).

  • Botox and filler on the forehead, temple, and eye area should be avoided 2 weeks prior to procedure for those who do not regularly receive injectables.

  • Avoid the following herbs and spices 48 hours before procedure: ginger, cinnamon, garlic, black and cayenne pepper.

  • No brow waxing, tinting, or threading one week prior (the more natural hair growth you have, the better!

  • Please Note: You will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.

MICROBLADING POST-CARE

Listed below are general rules regarding post-care microblading. Your artist will advise you on the very best post care instructions to achieve desired results.

DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate off. Picking can cause scarring and pigment loss!

  • Do not touch your brows.

  • The first two days, pat brows with damp cold paper towel, dab dry, then apply healing balm (provided) morning and night.

  • Apply healing balm every 4 hours during two week healing period. Always use a fresh Q-tip.

  • Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for a minimum of 4 weeks after your procedure. Direct sunlight can cause the pigment to change color while it is healing and can also cause hyper pigmentation and scarring.

  • Avoid pool, sauna, steam rooms, hot showers and/or hot baths for 10 days.

  • Avoid sweating on your face for 10 days. Sweating through or on the brows will expel pigment from the dermis producing poor results.

  • Avoid sleeping on your face/brows for the first 10 days.

  • Keep your bangs and hair pulled back from your face for the first 10 days.

  • NO makeup or skincare products to be used on the treated area for 10 days.

  • After 10 days, once the area has healed completely, consider using sunblock when going out in the sun to stop the color from fading.

  • Eyebrow tinting should not be undertaken for 2 weeks after your procedure.

  • Avoid Retin-A, Chemical Peels, Laser Treatments, Microdermabrasions, and/or anything to treat hyperpigmentation around the brow area once healed to prevent fading of your brow tattoo.

  • Inform your MRI technician that you have had a tattoo.

Please note: Eyebrows will appear darker, bolder, and sharper due to natural scabbing and healing for the first week. This is very common for all permanent cosmetic procedures.

LIP BLUSHING POST CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Lip Blush post-care is very important to the appearance and longevity of your new lips. Please read the following aftercare instructions carefully:

Day 1

Immediately following the procedure, lips will feel dry, chapped, tight and tender to the touch. They may appear swollen and bright in color.

For 4 hours after treatment, apply light pressure on lips with a clean paper towel, to remove any lymph. After 4 hours, start applying ointment as needed to keep lips constantly moist

No kissing, rubbing or friction on treatment area

Day 1-3

Apply ointment on lips several times a day. Keep lips moist at all times. Avoid oily, spicy and heavily seasoned food and drink with a straw. After every meal gently rinse and clean lips with water and pat dry, then re-apply ointment.

DAY 4-7

Between these days, lips will begin and end the process of peeling, and color will lighten by 30%-50%.
Do not pick or rub your lips and let the peeling happen naturally. Continue keeping your lips moist!

WEEK 2

Lips are done peeling, color is light. You may return to normal routines. Lips will continue to heal, up to 6 weeks. Every week more color will surface, it is important to continue keeping lips moist to get the best color at the end of the healing phase.

WEEK 6-8

Your lips are healed and you're feeling unstoppable!!! Just add some lip gloss and go! In most cases it requires two treatments to complete the lip transformation.

The following must be avoided during all 14 days post treatment:

  • Increased sweating

  • Practicing sports

  • Swimming

  • Hot sauna, hot bath, or Jacuzzi

  • Sun tanning or salon tanning

  • Exposure to UV/UVA Rays or chemicals as they have been known to cause a shift in color and premature fading

  • Any laser or chemical treatments or peelings, and/or any creams containing Retin-A or Glycolic acid on the treatment area

  • Touching of the treatment area except for when applying the post-care ointment with a cotton swab

  • Picking, peeling, or scratching of the treatment area in order to avoid scarring of the area or removal of the pigment

  • Performing tasks related to heavy household cleaning such as garage or basement cleaning where there is a lot of airborne debris

  • Drinking alcohol in excess, as it may lead to slow healing of wounds

  • Driving in open air vehicles such as convertibles, boats, bicycles, or motorcycles

  • Drinking alcohol in excess, as it may lead to slow healing of wounds

If you have any unexpected problems with the healing of the skin, please contact Microblading LA immediately, to discuss further instructions.

Contact a physician if any signs or symptoms develop such as the following: fever, redness at the site, swelling, tenderness of the procedure site, elevated body temperature, red streaks going from the procedure site towards the heart, and/or any green/yellow discharge that is foul in odor.

Attention Please: We strongly advise prospective new clients to book their Microblading appointments at least 2 months in advance of Vacations, Weddings, and Special Occasions. This allows adequate time for healing of both your Initial Microblading Appointment as well as a Touch-Up Enhancement Session 6-12 Weeks prior. To have perfect brows it is a multi-step process. Dream brows cannot be achieved in just one session. Some clients need more than two sessions to achieve their desire density and shape.

***There are no implied or written guarantees if you do not follow the above pre and post care instructions!***

LAMINATION POST CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Keep eyebrows dry for 24 to 48 hours after the procedure.

  • Do not apply makeup to eyebrows for 24 hours after the procedure.

  • Avoid touching the brow area to prevent against transferring oils

  • Do not apply Retin-A, AHA (“alpha-hydroxy acids”), and do not exfoliate the brow area for at least 72 hours before or after the brow treatment.

  • Do not apply self-tanner, or receive spray tanning for at least 48 hours post-treatment.

  • Gently comb hairs back into place daily

It is normal for brow hairs to be dry after the Brow Lamination procedure.

PIERCING AFTERCARE

Always wash your hands with soap and water before cleaning the area.

Packaged sterile saline is a gentle choice for piercing aftercare. Mixing your own sea salt is not suggested. We strongly encourage you to use a sterile saline labeled for use as a wound wash.

Contact lens saline, eye drops, and other saline products should never be used on a body piercing. Your saline ingredients should list .09% sodium chloride as the only ingredient. Mixing your own sea salt solution will commonly result in the product being far too salty and strong, this can over dry the piercing and interfere with healing. We suggest NeilMed Piercing aftercare or Wound Wash Saline Spray. Clean piercing 2-3 times a day and after showering. Continue this throughout the recommended healing time.

You DO NOT need to twist or move the jewelry at all. This will cause the skin to reopen and remove any healing it has accomplished already. The skin may be tight around the jewelry and it may not move at all, this is normal.

WHAT IS NORMAL?

Initially: some bleeding, localized swelling, tenderness, or bruising.

During healing: some discoloration, itching, secretion of a whitish-yellow fluid (not pus) that will form some crust on the jewelry. The tissue may tighten around the jewelry as it heals.

If you fail to include cleaning your piercing as part of your daily hygiene routine, normal but smelly bodily secretions may accumulate.

A piercing may seem healed before the healing process is complete. This is because tissue heals from the outside in, and although it feels fine, the interior remains fragile. Be patient, and keep cleaning throughout the entire healing period.

Piercings will go through “ups and downs” while healing. They may seem healed for a while, and then regress. The key is to continue your cleaning routine throughout initial healing time.

Even healed piercings can shrink or close in minutes after having been there for years! This varies from person to person; if you like your piercing, keep jewelry in—do not leave it empty.

Unless there is a problem with the size, style, or material of the initial jewelry, leave it in the place for the entire healing period. 3+ months.

WHAT TO AVOID WITH YOUR PIERCING

Avoid touching the piercing!

Avoid cleaning with alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, antibacterial soaps, iodine, or any harsh products, as these can damage cells. Also avoid ointments as they prevent necessary air circulation.

Avoid over-cleaning. This can delay your healing and irritate your piercing.

Avoid undue trauma such as friction from clothing, excessive motion of the area, playing with the jewelry, and vigorous cleaning. These activities can cause the formation of unsightly and uncomfortable scar tissue, migration, prolonged healing, and other complications. A hard eyepatch can be used to cover the navel for short periods of time for protection during any sport/rough physical activity.

Avoid all oral contact, rough play, and contact with others’ bodily fluids on or near your piercing during healing.

Avoid stress and recreational drug use, including excessive caffeine, nicotine, and alcohol.

Avoid submerging the piercing in unhygienic bodies of water such as lakes, pools, hot tubs, etc.

Or, protect your piercing using a waterproof wound sealant bandage. These are available at most drugstores.

Avoid all beauty and personal care products on or around the piercing including cosmetics, lotions, and sprays, etc.

Don’t hang charms or any object from your jewelry until the piercing is fully healed.

Sleeping directly on a healing cartilage piercing can cause irritation, even causing shifts in the piercing’s angle. Placing a travel pillow, on top of your pillow, and then placing your ear in the

opening can be helpful to avoid this. Use a t-shirt over your pillow and rotate it nightly, you can get 4 sleeps with one shirt!

Make sure your bedding is clean. This is especially important if you have pets that sleep in your bed.
